Online ordering - Basic settings & info

Find out how to set up Hostme online ordering feature

When setting up Online ordering, you first need to add products to Hostme in Admin panel -> Ordering & Menu -> Products & categories section.

In order to do that, please read the Online ordering - Complete instruction article.


After that, you can set up Ordering settings.

Delivery settings

  • Ordering availability based on Open hours vs Online reservation hours

Depending on what you select, the system will use open hours as available slots for online orders and vice versa.

  • Delivery menu

This option allows you to choose which menu you want to use for delivery.​

  • Online ordering cutoff time

This setting allows you to set up the time when you wish to receive the last online order for the day.

  • Advance ordering time

This option allows you to set up how much in advance (in minutes) you want customers to be able to make an online order.

  • Limit number of online orders per time slot (increment)

This option allows you to limit how many orders you can accept during one increment (max. increment size is 60 minutes).
Increments can be set up in Admin panel -> Availability -> Cover pacing.

  • Guest notes

This text will be displayed to your guests on your order page.

Then, you can set up the minimum amount eligible for delivery, as well as the distance fee in miles. Also, this is where you can set up a discount for delivery if there is any.


Pickup settings

  • Ordering availability based on open hours

This setting allows you to set up the time when you wish to receive the last online order for the day.

Enable tips

You can enable tips for pickup and delivery orders - these amounts will be suggested to the host or the guest making an online order.


Preorder settings

Next, you can enable Preorder service. It can be required or optional. First, you have to select which menu you want to enable for preordering.


Digital menu

Hostme offers the option of using a Digital menu along with links to online menus.

There are several links you can use for online ordering.

  • Link to delivery menu

  • Link to pick-up menu

  • Link to preorder menu

Additional settings

In the bottom of the Ordering settings page, you can also enable:

  • VAT in your online orders and Special requests options.

  • Special delivery request options (Contactless Delivery, Do not disturb and Need card reader)

  • Delivery statuses which will allow your staff to more easily track each order's progress.


Widgets

Widgets for online ordering can be found in the Admin panel -> Online tools -> Widgets. You can simply copy the HTML code and paste it to your website.
