Hosts can add guests to the Reservation Waitlist, review the reservation requests and confirm them when a table opens up.
To enable Reservation Waitlist feature, go to Admin Panel -> Reservations -> Main reservation settings:
Reservation Waitlist ON vs OFF
We've made sure the flow is similar to regular reservation taking and Manual approval request review. The biggest difference is that hosts cannot assign tables to waitlisted reservations:
Unlike regular reservations, waitlist requests are not assigned to a table until the host confirms them. Hosts manage all waitlist requests in the Reservation Waitlist tab.
Timeslot availability with Reservation Waitlist disabled (Toggle is OFF).
Timeslot availability with Reservation Waitlist enabled (Toggle is ON). We've added a blue color to provide an extra layer of warning for host.
How the Reservation Waitlist works
The host wants to add a guest/group/party to a waitlist in case a table frees up on said date/time. One important difference — there is no Table selection step. See screenshots above.
Select group size, date and area respectively.
Enable Add to Reservation Waitlist toggle in the bottom right corner of the Time selection step.
Note: Slots that appeared as unavailable with Cover limit exceeded warning will appear as regular slots.
Add guest details and save the reservation to the Reservation Waitlist.
Check the Reservation Waitlist for new reservation and seating opportunity.
Review and approve reservations on the Reservation Waitlist
This part works the same as Manual approval mode.
Go to Reservation Waitlist tab.
Click the mini reservation card to open a reservation in the right sidebar.
Click Review button to confirm the details and assign a table in Reservation wizard.
Save the reservation and find it in the Approved list.
